Curcumin is one of the products of plant secondary metabolites of turmeric and ginger. Due to the large potential as a future drug, experts are now focusing on native plants of Indonesia.There are a lot of data and literature that indicates that turmeric and ginger has great potential as anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anti-immunodeficiency, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-oxidant, anticarcinogenic, and anti-infection.According to Timothy Moynihan, MD, consultant medical oncologist from the Mayo Clinic, anti-oxidant content in curcumin can reduce inflammation and swelling. "Curcumin widely studied as a cancer drug because of inflammation or inflammation commonly found in cancer patients," he said.Research has shown that anti-oxidants turmeric can protect the fat, hemoglobin, and DNA from free radical attack.
